I am looking to buy a copy of La Sagrada Mitra de Guadalajara by Luz Montejano Hilton but George Farias' bookstore (Borderlands Books) no longer has it available and I cannot seem to find it anywhere.
Does anyone have any information as to how I can obtain a copy?

I do not know where to find the book but there is a search that you can do to see if your surname is in the book and how many times it is mentioned. It looks like it is pretty reliable but I am not sure because I did a search for Avila and the search said there were 30 pages where Avila was mentioned but the index in the back of the book has 46 individuals. Some of the individuals appear on the same page but I am not about to go through the whole list to see how reliable this search is. Thank you for the link. I did not know that the book was up on Google books. I have a copy of the book but being able to search through the scan may prove useful nevertheless.
That being said, the book is not for me. It is for the microhistorian (cronista) of Totatiche who is a very diligent researcher who has published numerous books and spent immeasurable hours at archives in Guadalajara, which have benefited me and many other genealogy researchers of the region immensly. He wants a copy that he can hold and sift through as he is so good at doing and given the great debt I owe him, I was hoping to get him one.

I want to clarify and I am sorry if I somehow said something misleading: Google Books is not showing the images of Luz Montejano's book, just a few small sections of the page where the surname appears. There are no full page images, (that would probably be a copyright infringement.) However, Google books has made a sort of index of the surnames that is accessible online. Searches: return the amount of pages where the surname appears in the book. So once someone knows that their surname appears in the book then they can search the actual book or have someone search it for them.
I hope this helps to understand what Google books has and has not done with Luz Montejano's book.

I just learned about Google Books at a lecture by a person that runs the web site googleyourfamilytree.com. He is not affiliated with Google in any way but he has a lot of great hints on how to use Google to research your family history-mostly free since Google doesn't charge for most features. One thing that may be of assistance to us is that if you are looking for a book on a specific subject you can go straight to Google books and weed out everything (like sites, images, etc)but books which decreases your number of hits. If they have the book, they may have the entire book or just pages but since it's in pdf format you can do a keyword search and it will highlight your words. This is especially helpful if the book is in a language in which you are not fluent. This is probably basic stuff for experienced researchers but for newbies/"nuevas" (is that correct?)like me it was helpful information that I would like to pass on.

Luz Montejano Hilton posts lots of messages in the various message boards. She lives in Mexico City and probably someone at the Archives there can tell you how to contact her. She might even be able to get a copy or lend a copy to the cronista. She used to e-mail me back, but then she stopped, and I never heard from her again. She only speaks Spanish even though her surname is not Hispanic.

I got a message from George Farias at Borderlands Books telling me that he has been trying to contact Luz Montejano for some time now to get more copies of the Sagrada Mitra de Guadalajara but has not been successful. If someone has a way of contacting her, please let George and me know.
