    MOVING THE PHOTOS FILE

I have been trying to find records for my grandparents....I have been able
to find records for my father's maternal great grandparent.  When I typed
in my great grandmother's name, hoping to get marriage information, the
baptismal record shows up.  But when I attempted to see about marriage
(actually I am trying to find more information on my paternal grandfather's
side), I am unable to do so. But I did get this:  does it mean there are no
additional records in between that time frame not listed?

    MOVING THE PHOTOS FILE

what I do most of the time is I type a name that is common every where, I type jose hernandez, it give me a list of them in the state, I chose one that has a register very close to the date and in the town I am interested in; I do click and it appears the register, than I click in the batch number and it will bring a list in alfabethical order of names in that batch, I then go through and ... maybe there is the register I am looking for... next step if I want more info I go to the FHC and place the order for the film         hope this helps                               Leticia Leon

    MOVING THE PHOTOS FILE

Latina (sorry I forgot your real name),

Unfortunately there is a gap in records.  I find this in many of the
records.  I guess the books were lost, or pages fell out, or they met with
    floods and fire.

    IGI Record Gaps

Emilie, You are correct in saying that there are record gaps. In my area of research, Nochistlan Zac I have gone through all the batch numbers and film numbers available and have documented the following missing years. I am posting this in case anyone else is researching Nochistlan.   1869, 1859-1860, 1836, 1805, 1763-1769, 1731-1744. The first year of films for Nochistlan begins with the year 1627.   Alicia Avelar Olmos de Carrillo San Jose, Ca

    IGI Record Gaps

    Also, Alicia,

When the film notes lead you to believe that the film will contain every
record within a time span listed, when you actually start looking through the
film you will find that things are terribly out of date sequence, or you even
find something from another parish or another century in it, or the gaps weren't
    listed in the film notes.
